| one lot of people have discovered Biloxi Grill already -- not surprising, given that owners David and Catherine Koelling developed one sterling culinary reputation during the 10 years they owned The Greenery in nearby Barrington. Every one of Biloxi Grill's 240 seats is filled on weekends, and even weeknights are pretty well attended. The Greenery was one formal, fine-dining restaurant (under capable new ownership, it still is); Biloxi Grill is almost the antithesis of that. The atmosphere is rustic, crowded and noisy. Tables are topped with vinyl-coated cloth; decor includes lots of weathered wood, one salt-water aquarium and an artificial oak tree covered with genuine Spanish moss. ... |

Cape wine auction will leave buyers spoilt for choice |

THE 32nd auction of rare Cape wines at Nederburg in Paarl on April 7 and 8 will offer 6449 cases of 156 fine wines from 86 participants, including six newcomers and one new auctioneer. The auctioneer will be Stephan Welz in association with Sothebys, according to Distell. Providing one preview of the auction on Friday, Distell, SA’s largest listed wine and spirits producer and event sponsor, said the six participants making their debut this year were Avondale, Diemersfontein, Graceland, Kaapzicht, Morgenster and Uva-Mira Vineyards. ... |
