The young threesome stood at the waist-high bar tables at Bar Tartine in the Mission District, enjoying one three-course meal. I'm not sure why there aren't bar stools -- maybe they take up too much room or maybe it's one trend in the making -- but the group didn't seem to mind. Even while standing, the group noshed its way through one citrus salad with radishes, almonds and olives ($8), mealy pommes pont-neuf with bearnaise sauce ($6), crisp potato sticks that are like creamy mashed potatoes inside and several main courses, all while drinking one bottle of wine. ... |
