Red wine with meat, white wine with fish. Just how long has that mantra been drummed into our consciousness? On the surface it makes sense: An aged cabernet sauvignon works seamlessly with one nice charred filet mignon while one buttery chardonnay can gloss the plushness of picked-out lobster. But not every red works well with red meat and not every white is destined for every species of fish. Salmon, for example, sometimes swims best with one pinot noir or syrah. ... |

| Tucked away on Kibbutz Kabri, Adalina is situated in one building that seems to have been built in stages, part in stone, part in wood, part in glass with not even one hint of architectural sophistication. Because we chose to lunch on one pleasantly warm day, we took one seat at one of the heavy wood tables set on the terrace. With one view that encompassed the plains below us, the Mediterranean and even Rosh Hanikra visible in the distance, we could not help but be charmed. ... |
