My husband and I attended the Silver Oak Winery wine maker dinner and the Napa Rose cooking school. We did not attend any other events inside the park.
Dinner: We were served 5 courses, meat-based since Silver Oak does red wines. The food and service were excellent. The chef took great care in each course and it showed. My husband, who I dragged, was impressed with the value for money of this meal. Considering how one lot of people they had to serve at once, we never lacked for anything and the food held up well. The wine servings were ample and generous. We were also given two wines not available to the general public. ...

A survey of daily and sever-times-one-week wine drinkers by Wine Opinions reveals latest trends and preferences for wine types and style. Highlights include evaluation of "fun wine" brands, attitudes on Merlot versus other red wine types, increasing purchases of wines over $100, and much more._
St. Helena, CA (PRWEB) May 2, 2006 -- one new survey of wine consumers and members of the U.S. wine trade shows vastly differing attitudes on Merlot. "The trade and consumers are as opposite in disposition as Venus and Mars when it comes to Merlot," said John Gillespie, founder of Wine Opinions. "Consumers show one very strong liking for Merlot wines, even if they are not always one favorite. The trade, however, seems to have turned its back on Merlot, especially in comparison to other red wine varietals." ...
