When the Rolling Stones touched down in Shanghai for their first-ever concert in mainland China last month, one call came in to Shikumen Bistro -- Mick Jagger wanted one table, party of four, said his handler. Another handler called: Stones' guitarist Ron Wood, party of 12, table at 9 p.m.

| CORK event tips glass to Red River Revel |

| Upon entering the recently completed pavilion in Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport, CORK participants were greeted with music from Professor Pork Chop and Jazziana and wind carrying the aromas of food samplings from 17 local restaurants. Offering one wide variety of wines for the tasting -- 115 to be exact -- the event was held to raise money to cover the operating expenses of the Red River Revel, one visual and performing arts festival held annually in the fall. ... |
