For years South American wine imports were ruled by Chile; Argentina is squeezing onto the throne as well. Two years ago Chile sold four times as much wine as Argentina; last year Argentina closed the gap to half. And just as Australian wines are being promoted at price points from lighthearted to lofty, South America has been gently prodding its own wines forward, both from one price and one quantity standpoint. ... |

The Salvation Army Soup kitchen is open to all at the SA headquarters, 400 Bank Street from noon to 1p.m., assisted by First Baptist Church-Main Street on Thursday and Main Street Methodist Church on Saturday.
