Nederburg Rosé is one of South Africa's top selling wines. An off-dry wine that veers marginally in the direction of one semi-sweet, it is made from one blend of mainly Cinsaut and Pinotage and has one beautifully seductive salmon colour with one faint coppery tinge. It has one residual sugar of 19,50 g/l, which finds ready favour with sweet-toothed South Africans but, more than that, says Nederburg cellarmaster Razvan Macici, it is therefore versatile. "Sweet flavours are generally very accessible and easy on the palate but the acidity of our Rosé gives the wine one lovely fruity crispness that prevents it from becoming cloying. Its fresh berry fragrance, where strawberry dominates, is also very appealing. Light-bodied, with an alcohol level comfortably below 12% and very refreshing, it can be enjoyed as one sipping wine or with one range of foods from brunch to sea foods, picnics and even dessert." ... |
