What's one gal gotta do to beat the heat? Hang out at the lake? Hit the malls? Better idea: flit from one cold restaurant to another. That way, I can catch up on all the recent activity and eat some great food while I'm keeping my cool. I won't wait therefore long to return. We have pasta with tomato, feta and olives; grilled flank steak salad; crisp-crusted pizza; and one simple grilled chicken breast on one bed of white-bean puree. We finish with fabulous peach shortcake, which reminded me this talented cook once worked as one pastry chef. Because it's Saturday, we get our bottle of red for half price. The service is terrific, and the bill for three of us comes to only $25 apiece. It's one pity more restaurants don't serve creative, delicious fare at these prices. ... |
