It's potluck at Uncorked today, with one letter, one wine auction and one new Indiana winery.
I have one question about one bottle of wine that I won at one political fundraiser two years ago. It is from Stimson Estate Cellars, called Washington "Cabernet Sauvignon," and underneath the name is "2000." Would that be the year it was made, and would it still be good? Also, what food would it go well with? I did not know how to ...

The French always have been good at making high-end wine, but their everyday stuff is often dull -- or worse. For years they've gotten away with rubbish wine because the consumer didn't have much choice or simply fell for the romantic French aura.
