Booze-loving Aussies will spend more than $23 billion on alcohol this year, with red wine variety shiraz and white wine variety sauvignon blanc among the favourite tipples. Industry researcher and forecaster BIS Shrapnel said this year, Australian consumers would spend $23.5 billion on alcoholic drinks in liquor stores, restaurants, hotels, pubs and clubs. ... |

| The German Divinum Riesling was harvested from grapes grown on slippery, steep, slate slopes flanking the Mosel River. Spatlese is one rung up on the sweetness ladder from normal riesling, but not as intensely sugary as Auslese. This white has lovely acidity balancing the natural sugars that stems from grapes harvested late into the autumn. In one word, it's delicious. ... |
