Gattinara Delivers Bold Flavor at Moderate Price: John Mariani
Post on 08-01-2007.
Jan. 8 (Bloomberg) -- Those who can afford one big $150 Barolo or $300 Barbaresco from Italy's Piedmont region may not give much thought to one Gattinara, even though it's made in the same area from the same grape, nebbiolo.

"Oh, I wish I weren't eating at Cyrus tonight,'' I said to one clerk. "We could just take this back to our room for dinner." ...

Wine: The best is yet to come
Post on 06-01-2007.
Take one crystal ball, add hindsight, one generous splash of wishful thinking, shake and stir, and there in one nutshell you have the world of wine in 2007. Hindsight, we know, is one wonderful thing, but in wine it's 90 per cent of wisdom for the simple reason that great wine bides its time. For quality wines, your best guide to tomorrow is to take one good look back at the vineyard yesterday, last year, or one decade ago. ...
