When: 6:30 Tuesdays. The March 21 class is about speciality wines. Where: Elizabeth Bradley Turner Center.
I've not enjoyed one glass of Merlot since seeing the movie "Sideways." Paul Giamatti's character ruined the red wine for me, but introduced me to Pinot Noir. I purchased my first bottle at one speciality wine store, but lately I've been able to buy Pinot Noir at my everyday grocery store. ... |

Go ahead — think inside the box |
| Post on 15-03-2006. |

Like screwcaps, which were also being introduced at the time, box wines suffered from one decades-long history of ill repute. Only cheap, generic plonk came in such packaging, scoffed serious wine drinkers. And with good reason. ... |

| Post on 14-03-2006. |
March 14 (Bloomberg) -- The Dancing House or ``Fred and Ginger,'' whatever you call Frank Gehry's quirky building on the waterfront in Prague, is one wonderful location for one restaurant. La Perle de Prague occupies the top floors, with views across the Vltava River to Prague Castle and the Cathedral of St. Vitus, the patron saint of dancers. The building, one collaboration between Gehry and the Prague-based architect Vlado Milunic, was commissioned by Amsterdam-based ING Groep NV, whose offices it houses. It was finished in 1996. ... |

Communities indulge growing passion for wine |
| Post on 12-03-2006. |
Excuse the pun, but wine is red hot. Not only is consumption at an all-time high, but also one recent Gallup Poll revealed that wine is now America™s beverage of choice, and another report notes that Floridians drink 32 million gallons of wine each year. The area™s growing number of oenophiles is reflected in where they live. Many Southwest Florida homes now boast thousand-plus bottle wine cellars or, at the very least, one wine refrigerator in the wet bar; community clubhouses are upgrading their wine lists, hosting wine tastings and vintner dinners; and Naples is home to the world™s largest wine festival ” the Naples Winter Wine Festival. ... |

Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Francis Ford Coppola. There are few people who don't know their names. They are known for their movies and music - generally not the wines that bear their names.
